Benoit BOTTALA alias STEEK, né le 20 mai 1983 entre dans le monde du graffiti à la fin des années 90 en Guadeloupe.
Son besoin d’ouverture sur le monde le pousse à voyager, rencontrer, échanger , apprendre… Il participe à plusieurs expositions individuelles et collectives et découvre le bodypainting en 2010. En 2015 il se classe à la 1ere place mondiale lors des qualifications des championnats du Monde de Bodypainting en Autriche.
Artiste de son temps, STEEK tire son inspiration de son île et garde un œil critique sur notre société. Sa priorité artistique est de créer une réflexion, une interrogation chez le spectateur via une toile, un mur ou un corps.
Born in 1983, Benoit BOTTALA, aka STEEK gets into the graffiti world in the late 90’s in GUADELOUPE. This Young artist feels the need to explore the world, meet other artists, exchange, learn… He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions and discovered the bodypainting in 2010. In 2015 he takes the temporary world’s 1st place during the qualifiers at World Bodypainting festival in Austria. Contemporary artist, STEEK find his inspiration from the beauty of his Island and keeps a critical eye on the society evolving. Through bodies, canvas or mural, STEEK wants to create a réflexion, an interrogation !
